NO MORE JIZYA FOR JIHADI JEW-HATERS: CANADA DEFUNDS PALESTINE HOUSE

Happy Valentines day, killers! The forces of good are having a banner day. Between the Iranian bomb factory exploding in Thailand and the Iranian jihadist blowing off his own legs in an attempt to kill innocent civilians in Bangkok, love is in the air.
In Canada, Minister Jason Kenney has stopped the funding for a settlement program administered by jihadist Palestine House. Once again, Canada is leading the way.

Minister Jason Kenney Decides to Stop Funding for a Settlement Program Administered by Palestine House

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 14, 2012) - Earlier this month, Mr. Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration, and Multiculturalism, decided not to renew a contribution agreement between Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and Palestine House Cultural and Educational Centre (Palestine House). As a result Palestine House will no longer provide settlement services or languageinstruction to newcomer Canadians. Mr. Kenny did not provide any convincing explanation for his decision.

As Sassy notes much is owed to the efforts of the JDL, fellow bloggers and those who work silently behind the scenes.

Examples of Anti-Semitic Advocacy Associated with Palestine House

1. Rashad Saleh, former President of Palestine House, compared former
Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak to Hitler as he urged on a crowd of protesters chanting “death to Jews” at a 2000 rally. In 2002, Rashed Saleh seemed to dispute the historical validity of the Holocaust. While speaking to CFRB radio he referred to a “so-called” Holocaust. He also compared Israeli government to the Nazi regime by saying “Israelis are engaging in atrocities similar to the one that Hitler has made.”

2. Adam Hanieh and Rafeef Ziadah, both former Palestine House board members, are members of the Coalition Against Israeli Apartheid (CAIA) and CUPE, and were instrumental in advocating in favour of CUPE Ontario's May 2006 anti-Israel boycott resolutions. Ziadah accuses Israel of ethnic cleansing, apartheid, and calls for the full return of Palestinian refugees and their descendants to Israel. 3. Addressing a 2006 Rally in Toronto condemning Israeli self-defense against Hezbollah attacks, former Palestine House President and current board member Elias Hazineh saluted Hezbollah and Hamas, both listed as terrorist entities in Canada.

4. Following a successful “Land Day” in March 2007, Palestine House published this statement supporting the actions of “martyrs” against “the Israeli Apartheid regime” on their website:

“As the Israeli Apartheid regime continues to steal the lands, properties and lives of the Palestinian people, and intensifies its aggression against neighboring Arab states, it is increasingly imperative that Palestinian and Arab people all over the world hold remain steadfast in demanding the liberation of the Palestinian people, the return of the Palestinian refugees, and the return of stolen Arab land to its rightful owners. The success of events like this year’s land day celebration shows that these demands are not mere utopian dreams, and that the lives of our martyrs have not been given in vain.”

4. In June 2007, Palestine House began calling for a boycott/picket campaign against Chapters Indigo “to demand an end to Canadian ties with Israeli apartheid”.

5. A Palestine House event in October 2007 titled “Palestine: The Canadian Connection in the Current Crisis”, was promoted on their website with the following statement in support of Hamas, a listed terrorist entity in Canada:

“Stephen Harper's Tory government shamefully led the international
community in imposing a siege on the Palestinian people for exercising their democracy under Israeli occupation, the first time in human history that sanctions have been imposed on a people under occupation. Since then, the US,EU, Canada and Israel have worked to bolster the regime of Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) as he works to negotiate away the historic rights of the Palestinian people to the delight of the Israeli apartheid regime.”

6. On 28 October 2007, Palestine House signed on to the “Hamilton Declaration”, an open letter to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas denouncing the Annapolis peace negotiations ,rejecting the two state solution, and opposing the existence of Israel as a Jewish state:

“It is our belief that the purpose of the Annapolis round of negotiations is to extract further critical concessions from the Palestinians while further delaying final status agreements. In particular, we believe that Israel will attempt to redefine the conflict with the Palestinians as being only about ending the occupation of Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza, or parts thereof. Such a redefinition leads the Palestinians into the trap of the ‘two-state’ formula which subverts our legitimate rights under international law. We stress that the central issue in the Palestinian conflict with Israel has always been the dispossession of the Palestinian people from their land and property caused by the Zionist ethnic cleansing of 1948 and the Israeli denial to Palestinians of the basic human right to return and to live in peace and security as equal citizens on their land. We further specifically caution you against any recognition of Israel as a “Jewish” state. Such a recognition would give Israel the façade of moral and legal legitimacy while critically compromising the full implementation of the inalienable Palestinian right of return.”

7. Palestine House participated in activities to commemorate 60th anniversary of the “ethnic cleansing of Palestine” in 2008.

“The year 2008 will mark the 60th year since the Nakba, the catastrophe in which Palestine was ethnically cleansed by the Zionist movement for the creation of the Israeli state. Activities will be organized around the world to commemorate the Nakba. In Canada, several organizations have come together to organize the
Nakba-60 activities. One of these is the monthly compilation and distribution of a newsletter with information about the Nakba, Palestinian refugees, and the refugees' right to return to the homes and lands from which they and their parents and grandparents were expelled. The Palestine House Resource Centre will maintain an archive of these newsletters.”

8. In February 2008, Palestine House held an event “In Memory of a National Leader” to “commemorate and honor the life and work of Dr. George Habash, founder of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine,” a listed terrorist entity in Canada which pioneered the hijacking of airplanes as a Middle East terror tactic. Habash was the main leader of the “rejectionist” wing of the Palestinian nationalist movement, insisting that under no circumstances should any negotiations be held with the Israeli state for a peaceful resolution of the conflict. Palestine House posted the following notice on its website following Habash’s death: “With deep sorrow we announce the passing of Dr. George Habash. Palestine House conveys our condolences to Dr. Habash's Family and his comrades in the PFLP and the PLO.”

9. Issam Al-Yamani, former Executive Director of Palestine House, was denied citizenship in Canada and was in process of deportation for over 20 years due to his membership in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, an organization listed as a terrorist entity in Canada. According to CSIS, Al-Yamani received weapons training and instruction in bomb manufacture in 1977 in Lebanon. At a Palestine House event honouring the founder of the PFLP, George Habash, Al-Yamani spoke “about the importance of upholding [Habash’s] vision and the solution of the PFLP, which calls to establish the Palestinian state on all of Palestine.”

10. In March 2008, Palestine House in partnership with the Canadian Arab Federation and the Canadian Islamic Congress, established an essay contest for Canadian high school and university students on “The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine” with the objective of delegitimizing the existence of Israel:

“Palestine House, the Canadian Arab Federation and the Canadian Islamic Congress jointly announced today an open invitation to all Canadian high school and university students (ages 17 through 27) to take part in an essay contest on the theme; "The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine."

This contest is being held in response to the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the state of Israel within Palestine. Five awards will be given. The first-place prize is $1,000; the second prize $750 and the third to the fifth are $500 each. In addition, all winners will receive a complimentary copy of the book, "The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine" by Israeli historian, Prof. Ilan Pappe.”

11. In May 2008, Palestine House held a rally in Toronto “demanding an end to occupation and Israeli Apartheid”, demonizing and delegitimizing the existence of the Jewish State. “From 1947-1948, over two-thirds of the Palestinian population were driven from their home land. Over 500 Palestinian & neighborhoods were destroyed to make way for the state of Israel. Palestinians call this process of ethnic cleansing, AL-Nakba or "The Catastrophe". Sixty Years later, over 7 million Palestinian refugees are in exile waiting to return home. Millions more live as citizens or under military occupation under conditions akin to South African Apartheid.”

12. In January 2009, Palestine House organized a protest rally in Toronto, characterized by hateful slogans against Israel and Jews, often calling for violence. These chants were shouted from under Hezbollah flags, an organization listed as a terrorist entity in Canada, the US and the EU. At a news conference on January 14, 2009, Canadian Jewish Congress called on the sponsors of these rallies to denounce these horrendously offensive expressions of anti-Semitism. Palestine House did nothing of the sort.

13. Palestine House officially endorses and promotes Israel Apartheid
Week.

14. On March 30, 2009 Palestine House hosted the controversial Dr. Ekrema Sabri as the keynote for its “Land Day” event. Sabri, the former Mufti of Jerusalem, delivered a lecture in 2005 criticizing the West for treating men who force their wives to have sex as rapists. See here:

“[In the West] a woman who was rebellious against her husband sued him for sleeping with her against her will. He was treated as a rapist. The husband was considered a rapist and was severely punished. He was punished as a rapist merely because he slept with his wife against her will.”

15. Dr. Sabri is also on record denouncing the right of Israel to exist and his admiration for child “martyrs” in an interview with Al-Ahram in 2000.

"The land of Palestine is not only Jerusalem; this land stretches from the [Jordan] River to the [Mediterranean] Sea. Naturally, the [Palestinian] problem relates to all of this land. We cannot establish a homeland by only liberating Jerusalem. It is true that Salah Al-Din did not rest until Jerusalem was liberated, but this does not suggest that the rest of this blessed land is to be neglected or given up..."

“Yes, it is. It's hard to express it in words. There is no doubt that a child [martyr] suggests that the new generation will carry on the mission with determination. The younger the martyr - the greater and the more I respect him...”

16. In response to a release by the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Centre exposing Dr. Sabri’s appalling positions, Palestine House issued the following statement dismissing the legitimate concerns of a Canadian human rights organization as the “foreign interests of the State of Israel”:

“Voices out of touch with Canadian values have attempted to smear Palestine House and the religious leaders from Jerusalem for advocating for racial and religious equality -- values that are enshrined in Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Regrettably, The Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center… attacks completely disregard core Canadian principles of tolerance, equality, freedom of speech and a right to share a diversity of views and thoughts.”

“The narrow interests being defended by FSWC… are the foreign interests of the State of Israel to continue a policy of ethnic and religious discrimination.”

17. Hazem Jamjoum, a former Palestine House board member (http://theagenda.tvo.org/guest/155313/Hazem-Jamjoum) , is communications officer at Badil, a member organization of the Global Palestine Right-of-Return Coalition, BDS Campaign National Committee, and al-Awda Right-to-Return Coalition. He is editor of Al-Majdal magazine which promotes boycott, divestment, and sanctions directed at Israel (http://www.badil.org/en/component/k2/itemlist/user/67-hazemjamjoum ): . In April 2009, Jamjoum wrote an article titled “Not an Analogy: Israel and the Crimes of Apartheid” (http://electronicintifada.net/content/not-analogy-israel-and-crime-apartheid/8164) , and has also written that “compromise on what was occupied of Palestine in 1948, on the release of our prisoners, and on the return of the refugees would be an insult at least as much to our martyrs and ancestors as it would be to the living.”
